Rid the problem= life in prison....no if and or buts about it! Get caught with it, know about it or not...yo ass in jail for life! Give 1k $ rewards if you help recover one, and watch how fast they become extinct!

just like the people who have already been to prison once or twice for possession of crack/heroin/meth/illegal hand guns etc?, and get out and go right back to the same lifestyle and know if they get caught again they are going for life if they get caught again? it may prevent alot of the problem but eliminate it, no way

if it happens like you want, the price for them may go up to 20-50-100k on the black market, i know people who would risk serving the rest of their life in prison to make that

It's interesting how the opponents/proponents of this thread almost mirror the ideology of that "other" thread...but banning any type of weapon just makes it harder for law abiding citizens who want 1 to get 1....like megan says..whether it's drugs/booze or weapons..the unsavory r going to find a a way.

of course they will but your systems fucked, it needs change and we all know it. maybe banning them could be the first step in the right direction. in all honesty wtf does any law abiding citizen need an assault weapon for?

here is my issue with this..

they are the same exact thing....semi auto .223. one just has some plastic crap attached to it..the clip is where i think the issue is and there is no way your banning those..even if we did ban it..u can still order one online from another country and the us postal service will deliver it to your house..

Now i dont think there is a need for someone to own one that LOOKS like a machine gun..but banning it is not going to change anything..the deer rifle will do the exact same damage and i havnt looked but im willing to bet u can buy an extended magazine for it.. i can put a cardboard box around my car and paint it up to look like a tank..but that doesnt make it a real tank

The same reason ppl want a car that goes 200 or a plane that goes mach 1..or a xlarge baconator at wendys..because they can...the system may be imperfect,but it's the best system in the free world when it comes to peoples liberties..if you crave for a government that wants to tell you what you can and can't do and stifles peoples freedoms then it may not be the best system..but we have a constitution 2nd to none that protects r freedoms and liberties.
